It is the biggest trade mark with Limited Brands surpassing sales of $5 billion and operating income of US$1 billion in 2006. Roy Raymond felt very uncomfortable while purchasing lingerie for his wife in a department store so he thought to start his own lingerie store. The first Victoria’s Secret store was opened at Standford Shopping Center and he got good response and another three stores were opened which gave relaxed atmosphere to men for buying lingerie from these stores.

After five years of starting lingerie business in 1982 Roy Raymond sold the company to The Limited. In 1980s The Limited spread Victorias Secret in US malls. The company also sells shoes, evening wear and perfumes as a part of its collection. In 1990 Victoria’s Secret becomes the largest dealer for selling lingerie after clocking sales of $1 billion.
